car insurance woes
Since buying the new car, I have been searching high and low for the best deal on car insurance. My current policy will nearly double in cost if I stay with them. Seems kind of absurd to me given I have been with them for awhile now. Especially since I found 3 other companies that are close to what I am currently paying. Its definitely worth it to compare car insurance policies every once in awhile.
I have found out a lot about car and home insurance through all this research. I didn’t realize there were so many options available to choose from when you have a new car versus a paid off one. Things like Gap Insurance are way cheaper with an auto policy than if you buy it through the dealership. I like that my warranty covers car rental for the first 5 years and offers roadside assistance too. Things like having that built in save me more on the insurance side and cost me nothing on the car side.
If you are in the process of buying a car or if you have one and think you might be spending too much, its definitely worth the hour or 2 to research it. When all is said and done, by switching carriers, my insurance is only going up $13 a month with the same coverage I had before. That’s a huge savings over the $75 more a month I got with my existing carrier.
