house fixin up

Even though I rent, I would really like to “modernize” some of the things in my house. Not a lot and certainly not things that take a ton of money but things like light fixtures and cabinet hardware would go a long way in here. The house was built in the 50s and used to be military housing so its all just real basic, boring things. I worry though that adding things that leave evidence when removed would detract from my security deposit.
