Babywearing

I love babywearing.  When Alex was tiny and had colic, it allowed him to sleep and me to regain a little sanity after the crying.  Now, it allows me to do things when he is being clingy and still have my hands free.  It means we can go out in public and I don’t fear him running away.  As he has gotten older, I have switched from a Moby Wrap to a Mei Tai carrier.

We mowed the lawn today.  Him on my back in the Mei Tai, me, obviously, doing the mowing.   It was so sweet when he laid his head on my back.  He sees the Mei Tai and comes running to get in it. Its definitely something I can’t do with him running around and this way, when he takes a nap in a bit, I can take one too.

If you are a new mom, soon to be mom or already a mom, I highly recommend looking into a good carrier.  I found I used it much more than I ever thought I would.  I never did get the knack of nursing while wearing him but I know lots of mamas that do it.  There are a ton of varieties out there, both in style and fabric.  Later on, I may try to do an article on the different types and the pros and cons of each.
