Birthday wrap-up

We all went to dinner tonight for my birthday. Much good food was eaten and good company was enjoyed. I got an AbLounge XL from my mom. Funny… the machine looks like this but I don’t.

I swear, it must be broken too. I got it out of the box, got it all set up, used it for a nice little workout and I still don’t look like that. In all seriousness though, it really does give a good little workout. And not just your abs either. I can feel it in my back and legs too. Between this and the Tae Bo bootcamp DVD I just got off Ebay, if I don’t starting losing weight… well, it will mean I am not using them I guess. I like too that I can fold it up so its not taking up a big ol piece of my house, inviting Alex to smash his fingers in it.

I had to go to HellMart (WalMart) this afternoon to get a couple things.  While there, I decided I was starving and we went to the McDonalds inside so Alex and I could split some fries.  (Wait, now I wonder if this is why I don’t look like that chick.  Huh.) We were eating and I saw another mom bring in her 3 kids.  They were probably 4, 2 and 8-12 months old.

All 3 of them, including the baby, were eating that Baby Bottle pop candy.  She sat them at a table and ordered their food and then sat down.  She kind of buried her face in her hands for a couple minutes.  (Oh, how I know that feeling. ) Their food was ready and she got drinks for all 3.  The 2 year old says I want Dr Pepper after hearing her big sister say it.  To my amazement, she brought back 3 happy meal cups filled with Dr. Pepper.  I was shocked.  Alex, drinking water with a shot of Strawberry Fruitopia, looks at me like “WTH Mom!  They get it, why don’t I”.  I just cannot imagine giving my toddler a soda that is known for having one of the higher caffeine in it.  Heck, I feel  guilty giving him french fries for a snack!

I know that not every parent makes the best choices at times and I am hoping this was just a free for all day for her but still…  I was shocked.
