Well it has been a busy couple of weeks. On Sunday, July 1, Alex woke up with a fever. During the day I kept him on Advil but by late afternoon it had spiked to 105.4. Yes, you are reading that right. 105.4. I called Kaiser to see if they wanted to see him right away. We headed for the ER only to be told that well... he has no symptoms, just treat the fever and see his regular doctor tomorrow. Back home we went, he was pretty miserable, I was pretty worried. We saw a doctor on Monday, only to be told the same thing. The fever continued Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning; ranging from 101 to the 104 tempatures. He was, of course, a very unhappy cranky camper. By Wednesday night, the fever was gone and it was like nothing had happened at all.

I took him to daycare on Thursday, called to check on him after being at work for an hour. Apparently a rash had broken out on his face, so it was time to go get him. As I drove to pick him up, I called Kaiser again to request an appointment. Something was just not right. By the time I got to his daycare to pick him up, the rash was all over his back and tummy. He was very sleepy but not itching or really anything else. He slept most of that afternoon before his appointment. We found out as his appointment that he had Roseola. It used to be called the 3 day measles.

He is fine now and all is well in the world of Alex, but, boy, was that scary!

I took him to an aerial fireworks show even though he wasn't feeling too hot and he loved the bright lights. The show was great and he had a good time, or at least as good as could be expected. I tend to forget just how young he was last year. Heck, last year he slept through the whole thing!
