Small rant about stupid pet owners...
So the boys and I went on our walk. It was nice not to try to maneuver the stroller and Freedom around at the same time. Alex doesn't like being in the Mei Tai when I have it on my chest because he can't see out so normally its the stroller. The walk was nice until all of a sudden a Pit comes charging us, barking his head off. Mind you his house was a good 100 feet from where we were. I yanked Freedom into a sit stay position and put my other arm around Alex on my back. Meanwhile, the stupid pet owners (SPO) are yelling in a sing song voice Bruiser, comere Bruiser... come on honey. And they tell me Oh its ok, he's FRIENDLY! I'm like My dog's not!!!!!!! At this point their dog lunged on Freedom who fought back, of course. As they mosey on over like a Sunday stroll. Yeah uh HI. Come get your fucking unleashed SO not nice dog. I sorta kinda have my hands full here you dumbass! SPO finally comes to get Bruiser and take him away. Freedom is limping again, Alex is crying and they (there were 4 freaking adults sitting outside) were like oh gee... he's never done that before. teeheehee Soooooooorry
I think Freedom hurt the same leg that has been bothering him for the last 6 months. There is no fur missing or anything like that so I doubt its a new injury but it was a sprain that had JUST started to heal. Alex is obviously ok. Yet one more reason to wear him than have him in the stroller. If the either of the dogs had hurt him, I'd be in jail for murdering the SPO at this point. Freedom is not dog aggressive like that UNLESS he gets charged and he is leashed. I don't for a minute believe that this has never happened before with their dog. Freedom was protecting Alex and I from this charging dog that easily outweighed him. He is a good protector, my boy is. Needless to say THAT is not a route we will go on again.
