Summer is definitely here. It is freaking hot today.

We went to Nanette's neighbor's house for a potluck of sorts for the holiday. YUMMY food. Alex ate a ton. Played a ton. Is now sound asleep. He managed to fall asleep on the 5 minute drive home. Of course this means he will be up at like midnight to play.

I have everything packed up for tomorrow and ready to go. I know I am finishing 4 days off but geez it went by fast!

I have major car envy. Of everyone. Part of it stems from my desire to drive something that is not half my age old. Part of it is from the gas mileage I get (12-15 mpg). Part of it is from wanting something NEW. None of these are proper motivators to go buy a new car. Ideally, someone will drop the keys and the title to a Civic Hybrid on my front porch and say "Its yours. Love, anonymous". Given that its probably not going to happen... I have been looking at Kias, Hyuandi and the like. My payment needs to be low enough that it doesn't feel like a rent payment. I would love to get an SUV hybrid but yeah... I would love to be a size 2 also.

Work sponsored a Bone Marrow registration for today. I went into the office specifically to do that. I have wanted to be in the registry for quite awhile but it was a $65 fee to sign up last time I checked at the blood bank. I would love to be able to help someone out like that. I had a meeting from 7-8 and then another from 9-11, did the bone marrow thing at 11:30 and then left to take Alex to the Dr. Seriously, that is my kind of schedule.

There are whales at the port in West Sacramento. A mother and her calf. I would love to take Alex to see them, but I highly doubt I will. It just seems like driving to a train wreck for some reason to me. Its a mom and her baby, both are scared, tired, hungry and confused. Driving to see them just feels wrong.

Little man is asleep, I am going to catch up on email and then head to bed myself. Happy Friday!

Alex took his first steps this week. He is slowly getting braver about it. He managed to make 5 in a row tonight into Grandma's arms! He is so proud of himself with each one he takes too. He is babbling a lot more as well. I am hopeful that this is a sign that talking is in the near future.

He is having tons of fun with his new toys, the ride-on toy that Grandpa and Grandma Barbara gave him is a hit. He likes to push it around and when I sit him on it and push him around he laughs and laughs.
